Hi, doing some jobs on the disco and trying to sort out oil drips on the floor. I think may be 2 poss causes and wondered if anybody has seen them before. 1 is the breather ? pipe from the rocker cover down to the oil filter housing area, I think its leaking from around the bottom of this pipe over the housing down the filter dripping onto the diff then the ground. The other is the sump, even though only slight dampness around the front cover the front of the sump seems wet, on closer inspection it has several large rusty scabs that are damp/wet. Bit of a rub with a rag, some rust came off, next day wet again, could it be the sump rusting through ? 98 model not too bad for rust elsewhere, thanks for any comments Brian.

The breather should be replaced if it is soo blocked that the pressure is causing a leak.

The front cover leak maybe the front crank oil seal and needs attention also.

I think a couple of pictures would help with diagnosis Smile

Check that the joint between the metal pipes from the top of the oil filter mount and the flexible pipes to/from the radiator aren't leaking; common for the seal to go in the joint. Also check the O ring where the breather filter fits onto the rocker cover.
