On my travels last week I filled up with Biodiesel from a supplier I havent used before, they seemed to be a running a massive commercial setup and had an enormous storage tank so guessed they knew what they were doing.

I drove about 500miles and all has been fine until I took the car out yesterday and the water in filter light came on. In the year I have owned the car this light has never come on and considering I cahnged the filter about a week ago and have only run one tank of Dino and this tank of Bio through it I can only assume the bio is to blame.

This is what i dranied out of the filter:

So whats the verdict? The car still runs fine but there is obviously water in the tank, I only have about 1/4 of a tank left. Is this a problem with the bio or is there something else to blame here and should I be worried. Im guessing I shouldnt use that supplier again!? Confused

If your asking the question 'should you drain it' the answer is yes.

If you've any concerns about what's in the tank, then get it out, Normally it's only one bolt and if you drain into containers then if it's all OK, just put it back in.

It's the weekend, it's 30 minutes work, and it's piece of mind.

I make my own bio diesel at home, that looks like horrible murky bio diesel with a layer of bi product called glycerol which seperates out of the bio. It should be done before the bio is washed. Washing would make the bio a clear deep straw colour. Not cloudy like this. George
