Having filtered about 200L of WVO I am now left with about 30L of tallow/lard. I did think about mixing it with seeds and nuts to make SPAM balls to feed the birds in the Winter but it is too runny.
I don't fancy bringing it into the house to heat it up then cool it, to see if it sets. Any ideas?

Thanks Terence. The only problem is I don't know anyone who makes bio. There are no commercial outlets in this area for bio either. I think the nearest is Cambridge.
My regular source of WVO has now dried up. More to the point - the guy who used to collect it from them and let them down for over a year, has now decided he is going to collect it again and they haven't had the nuts to tell him that someone else is now taking it. To make it even worse, he is a yank!
Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.

buy a few 1 micron sock filter and fill these up with it and hang them up - You'll get more good oil out of it and will end up with a harder product if you want to have a go at making SPAM balls.
Some people have mucked about warming it up and mixing with sawdust to make logs for the fire....
Post up on www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk that you are giving it away and somebody will be along to take it off you.

Hi Nat,
I have got to the stage where I am now putting the remaining sludge through a series of filters. I am managing to squeeze a bit more oil out but it is turning into a slow process.
Now the important job is to find a new source of WVO to process.
