Hi all,
Picked myself up a new toy as the 60mile round trip (dual carrigeway) to work and back is a bit much in a sammy
So, completely standard sportrak seemed order of the day - removeable hard top as well, so looking forward to the summer! Anyway, pics
Interior is a LOT nicer than the zook, with voltmeter and inclinometer as standard, and nice comfortable seats!
Now time for a lift and some new boots?

Im thinking I need to fix the zook first (clutch replacement) THEN I can start looking at the sportrak!
OR keep my sammy as pure offroad toy so dont need to worry about MOT or Tax anymore
The Sportrak has AT tyres on it already, so I reckon a LITTLE bit of lift wouldnt hurt........(isnt this where it all starts?!?!?)

If only I had the time to fit them.
The Sportrak is a great little car. Its a shame that there are very few off road parts for them. Its good fun if you like fabricating stuff though.
I've not had my Sportrak on or off road for quite a while, and I've really missed it. I've started a few new mods that should be finished soon. I'll start a thread in a few days, with a few piccies of it.
The Portals are now destined for another Sportrak, as I want to run a V8 but don't want to mess around with the emission's regs come MOT time, so I'm going to use an older Sportrak to make life a little easier.
Paul.

That looks great Paul - really nice
The roof rack looks good, is that a standard part or something you fabricated?

Thanks for the compliment.
I made it. There is a thread about it with lots of pictures on the old forum.

It looks really good, how does it work with the removable rear section of roof? I would check the old forum, but the gf is bothering me to get off the PC so she can spend all my money on a holiday lol

I'll take a few pictures tomorrow and post them up.
Basically it bolts through the roof to the rear cage using the existing holes. You do have to cut the roof a little, but it makes it really strong.
If I get a chance I'll find the old thread for you.
Paul.

Thanks for that Paul - very interesting reading I believe Bures (suffolk / essex border) is open on 25th Feb, so will definately be down there in either the sportrak or the sammy - its looking more likely that the sportrak will be going out for a play, so will be interesting to see how it does
Its all standard at the minute, so a lift is first order of the day. Just an inch or two will do - is a spring lift or body the 'norm' over here?

a shackle lift on the back and tightening up the torsion bars at the front usually does the trick for a couple of inches any more than that and you,d have to start thinking about a body lift.
