question,
is the rim size the same on 12.50 x 20 and 10.50 x 20
my mog rims are 9x20

my thought is that all 20 inch tyres would have the same size hole so the rim would be the same

my problem is that my 12.50 tyres are a b*****d to fit over the rim bead face but appear to be loose once fitted to the seat bead

me and unimogler have fitted one tyre and when the tube was inflated there was no bang like you hear on car tyres plus the tyre valve wanted to pull it self into the rim as inflated

what is wrong?

tigermog,

If it's for a merc diesel car, the ring gear is different iirc on the mogs. It's the pitch of the teeth and all that gubbins.

i think you will find theres no bead ring on the mog rims(you get a slight raised bit on a rim thats designed for a tubeless tyre )where most comercial rims are used with tubes so use that to hold the bead against the wheel as fror being difficult to get over the lip that will be down to the ply rating being high and stiff sidewalls

happened to me, as it happened the inner tube was the wrong way round.

As for the tyre difference, it all depends on the number of ply on the tyre, as my michelins were quite supple and easy to put on (5 ply or something like that) I swapped and put some 14 ply tyres on, hell of a lot harder to mount on rims.

It does sound like the tube is the wrong way up.If you are going from an 8 ply tyre to a 14 ply tyre you will notice how much more unflexiable the 14 ply tyre is against an 8 ply one.the easiest way to work out which way a tube has to go is to look where abouts on the tube the valve is located. It should be off centre ,that means it's the right way up, if it's facing down it's the wrong way up.As long as you have plenty of lube on the wheel and tyre and the wheel is centralised the tyre will gradually creep up onto the bead.
