are the patrols 2wd with a lsd or constant 4wd?

what kinda mpg will a 95-96 ish 2.7 td terrano 2 do please??

i been told they only do around 20mpg was considering one of the above a 4.0 petrol jeep or a isuzu trooper diesel.

patrol is 2 wd with selectable 4wd. some have LSD some have diff lock
i'd buy a patrol, about 24 mpg from 2.8 LWB

OK, my 2001 Terrano TDI can give up to 30 mpg, but 28mpg is a lot more realistic.

Some cars can give worse, it is usually related to a knackered MAF sensor, also gives a big drop in power & general driveability.

SWB terrano's are only tail happy with worn tyres in the wet - mine is at the moment, but needs new road tyres. The difference in SWB & LWB is largely in the body, the actual wheel base is not that different, so if a swb is tail happy, then a lwb will be tail happy. I just drive according to road conditions, so go slower round roundabouts & junctions in the wet!!

Errrrr,

You shouldn't be 'pushing hard' any vehicle round a roundabout let alone a 4WD with its inherently higher centre of gravity. Some Muppet once smashed into our Discovery because he was 'pushing hard' on a roundabout!

Best Regards

No,

Tail happy isn't fun on public roads, it kills and injures people Exclamation

If you want to drive like that, go to a proper site or raceway and enjoy yourself without putting other people's lives at risk.

Do not encourage or boast about reckless driving on public roads on this Forum.

All Patrols are part time 4WD... If you mean "LSD" between front and rear axle I think that Land Cruiser HJ80 and VX100 will give you this (can of course be locked). Great for slippery roads but crappy for off roading.
To my knowledge, the "standard" version has no axle locks at all (no LSD, diff lock or whatever), where as the "luxury" version has standard electrical activated rear diff lock + rear stalibilizer disconnect.
On the old MQ series (1980s) there was a rear LSD.
