Hi.

Does the glass of the bulbs (or what is left of it) seem to have a shiny black coating on it ?, if so suspect alternator probs giving a high battery voltage.

Are you putting higher power bulbs in ?.

Sometimes when the filament of a bulb breaks it can partially short the bulb as the broken filament bridges the supports, this can lead to exciting results.

HTH.. Don

You could us LED bulbs. Brighter, use less power, and more tolerant of a greater voltage range. They also don't get hot.

Hi, not looked at the glass cos it's all smashed However if i have a fault with the alternator how come it's the same two bulbs that blow each time. The type of bulbs that are in my instrument dials are the small 501 capless type can you obtain them in LED form? and if my charge system was at fault woud'nt other things blow as well ??? .

Thats the good thing about these LED's, lower wattage, brighter, last longer but cost more.
