In my quest to get the vit through its MOT I have just been around to a good friends to borrow a pair of shocks.
Sitting in his yard is a 1/2" lift kit, two springsand front strut spacer. but one front spring is broken.
Its a Pro comp set so as they are going through a change of importer I cant get any idea of if a spare spring is available.
Would any other springs fit my Vit to give a small lift?

I did ring them about my shockers ( or lack of them) but the bloke didnt have a clue, he just asked me all sorts of questions I had to give him the exact spec Length Piston Diameter? You cant just tell him the vehicle and he flogs you the bit which didnt fill me with confidence
In fairness to him he did say they have only just taken it on and should get a delivery flown over soon.
There must be another vehicle out there we can rob the springs off?

Just bought a second hand set of spacers, I will have to find / make some front strut spacers now.
The rear shock spacers are easily made from box section

I'd still recommend the Rover 200 springs and Astra shocks on the back - cheap and simple
If your mate has the front strut spacers I'd fit them. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure you can fit them without changing springs or adding spacers. It just allows more travel.
Depends what your ultimate goal is I suppose.

Its just a fun vehicle I occasionally use for the school runs, we enter it in local shows as a military vehicle so we get in for free, only been refused once!
Its is capable of doing a small bit of off roading, I dont want to spend a fortune on it.
I have just bought a second hand set of Bits 4 Vits spring spacers to lift it 1 1/2" so if I can get the front spacers from my mate and make some rears for teh shocks it should be ok.
Just going to MOT it before we mod it

If you are putting 1 1/2" spring spacers spacers on the back, wouldn't the Astra shocks be ok?
It would save the need for shock spacers and be cheap and easy to get hold of.

If it's just a matter of getting through the MOT, Astra shocks wouldn't bottom out if you are careful.
I bet you'd get away with it

Well as you know things some times dont go to plan
I bought Astra shocks ( to save £60) but they are 2" too big.
I then was given as set of SJ shocks Too Small.
I was then offered a set of second hand standard Vit ones by Richie, so I said I would have them, as we chatted turns out he had a set of spring spacers too so I got them as well.
I need the standard shocks to get it through the MOT and I will just make a set of Shock spacers from box section for when I fit the spacers.
Any one got a picture of them? I have a good idea but allways worth looking at how some one else has done it.
Then if I ever need new shocks the astra ones will fit.
Half my problem is I am on a buget and cant really justify having the Vit but I dont spend much on it and in general I am cheap to keep LOL
Why dont you put the rover 200 spring mod in to the tech section?
