Apologies for hijacking a 4X4 forum but,

I have a TVR with a Borg Warner T5 gearbox that is stiff on the gearchange.

Being as the T5 box uses ATF the same as the R380 and the LT77, Can I use Evolution 1 oil in it in place of the ATF?

Thanks

No apologies required but please expect an unexplained hankering for slow ponderous driving through deep mud any minute Laughing

After consulting the Big Book of Lube, I can't see any reason why not. Evo 1 is used extensively by Morgans and other sports cars where ordinary D3 ATF is specified.

If it were me I'd go for it (but I would say that)

Thanks for the info.

The TVR will be getting Evo1 at the next service.

I already bought some earlier this year for my son's Land Rover but he sold it just before we did the service.
So now it won't go to waste.

It's a TVR Chimaera 500 (1998)

Some say the T5 box takes as little as 1.4Lt others say as much at 2.5Lt

Apparently there are different variants of the T5 box, but I think this is more in the US market.

I have 3Lt of oil so I should be OK

Thanks
