for my two -penny -worth.

people are mentioning how "colin" has been a stalwart for years....but i thought they were "under new management?" is colin not management? i thought he was?

it seems its just a restructure/movement/scale down of the company
i expect the lower eschelons are going to be new, but if colin is still there then its NOT under new management.

or have i got this wrong

i have bought from scorpion and liked there stuff (no chocolate issues here) but i did find them to be a tad expensive
it also used to drive me mad that they did not display there prices (why is this?) i had to endure extra time/cost phoning them to be told on nearly every occasion that a young lady would call me back (and she did to be honist)

i wish them well in there move, its tough out there.
i would still buy from them (if they would disclose there prices)

I've been talking to a few acquaintances who are under the impression that a lot of firms are using the current situation as a flag of convenience so they can get out of a very weak business and restart from a stronger base leaving their old creditors to pick up the tab.

Not that Scorpion is one of these, however I know a of a few in the medical business doing exactly that.

Are their not rules covering bankruptcy and insolvency? I thought that people who were declared bankrupt had to undergo some sort of scrutiny and that they were bared from directorship, continuing to run businesses and so forth. I have no insight into this but it is something that I heard somewhere.

Yes, but most get around this by putting the "new" company in the wifes name.

If its a limited company then its only the company thats insolvent.

your right, but as tony said, if hes declarde bankrupt (different from insolvancy) he personaly cant become a company director for a few years, and a personal bankrupt will have lots of restrictions put on his finances etc.

i hope its not as richard said about people using this resession as a cop out to start again with a "clean" slate so to speak??? Crying or Very sad

people can only speak as they find and although i have bought a lot of parts from them i found there attitude not very good, i also spoke mainly to a young lady (foreign i think) who always knew more than me.. Wink Laughing (not hard i know)

but back to the first post...if colin is heading the ship again, then its not under new management.

Under new or same managment hed better get his act together , in these difficult times its hard enough keeping content customers let alone disgruntled ones.

i for one have voted with my feet ..

i very nearly came a cropper straightening a steering bar once with a winch and strop.. it pulled the TRE right out the end... brown underpant moment ill never forget it.

Ive carried out the same proceedure numerous times and many peope on here have had me do the same to their trucks over the years and ive never popped a TRE since..

I hated the fact they never displayed the price of stuff in there showroom, there excuse was Tesco wouldnt allow it as they were there as wholesaler, tescos were the landlord but that is the daftest excuse I have ever heard ! Shocked

what a load of cr*p, a wholeseller can display its prices the same as a retailer.
and both tesco and scorpion are retailers (not wholesellers) ???? Rolling Eyes
