I put a post up a couple of days ago about selling/wrecking my Niva, what happened to it? Why don't I get an explanation, even a PM saying why it was removed? I thought it would be a common courtesy for the person who deleted/removed/moved it to at least let me know why it was removed and where it now is?
I have searched all over the site looking for it but still haven't been able to find it
Any chance of getting the info back? I was talking to someone in the thread who was interested in the car and now have no idea who it was

difflock has strict rules about advertising in the main forums, probably one of the admins seen it and got rid. there is a classiffieds section at the top of the page for selling stuff in.

Oh ok, I sort of thought about putting it in classifieds, then thought that it probably had much more chance of being seen here, as I have never even looked in the classifieds before. Just looking now, in the whole cars Lada section there is a Landrover O.o Any chance of getting the user name/details back for the person who was interested?

Hi,
it was me who deleted it as it was against forum rules to advertise in the technical section. Quote' I sort of thought about putting it in classifieds, then thought that it probably had much more chance of being seen here, as I have never even looked in the classifieds before.'
If people used the classified section it would make things a whole lot easier for everyone. I apologise for not pm'ing you, my mistake as I usually let people know why their post was removed.
The name of the person who was interested is
niva_feeva
Regards
Colin.

Am I right in saying that when you have a classified you get an extra little icon by your sig?

A quick post in here to say you've got an ad in the classifieds should do the trick.

wouldnt that be the same as selling in the tech section? it would still clog up the bits supposed to be for techy stuff.
If people used the Classified section then there would be no problem.
Colin.

However ...... people tend to look in their own sections for stuff of interest. While I see where the management are coming from I think people should be allowed to highlight they have stuff for sale.

I personaly dont think people should be allowed to just post 'I have an ad in the calssifieds' as it is just a way around the no selling in the techy section, same as the 'What's it worth' posts etc.
Regards
Colin.
ps, I am sure all of this has been covered in a previous thread.

ok, thanks for the explanation and info.
I think it would be good if there was some place to put it in the Lada section rather than the classifieds, so more people would look at it.
Another reason that I didn't want to put it in the classifieds is that everything I have seen on there previously is in England while I am in Australia. I figured that there probably wouldn't be many other Aussies who look in the classifieds because most of the stuff in there isn't relevant.

My thoughts exactly. However, if we can't, we can't. So be it.

At least you didn't earn yourself "2 Serious Infractions" for posting an ad here like I did on the Fiat Forum.
It's a problem with big forums like this, the majority of members will only look in their own favourite topic in our case Lada. I for one never look at the classified section because i'm not interested in digging through ads for Sporttrack tyre covers and seats from a land cruiser.
A better system would be to have tech, classifieds, etc sections within the Lada section.
.....is there a suggestion thread?!

Give it a go, you never know

..I just realised that I listed my Lada for sale in here and the post was not removed/moved..
I did a post up detailing my lada and all the things it has etc with photos then just listed that it was for sale at the end - guessing the mods didn't read that far..
I wouldn't mind at all if regular users listed lada's for sale in here - maybe a sticky thread puerly for buying/selling etc
