|
|
|
I have just bough a (manual) 1995 M-reg Disco 300Tdi. I'd like to run this on bio-diesel, but I've been told that there might be a problem related to the fuel injection system that would prevent it running correctly - something to do with some sensors that specifically work by detecting diesel fumes I think. Can anyone confirm if this is the case, or can I just go for it?
Cheers,
Gareth

300tdi's are not electronicaly controlled, well the 1995 ones arent anyway you may want to remove the egr valve if you still have one fitted as theyre cr*p. if the bio fuel it propper bio fuel thats washed properly then it will run great on the stuff. if your considering veg oil then stick with no more than about 12% to save on problems later.

Welcome to Difflock.
As said above, you'll have no problems with properly made bio-diesel.

Great stuff. I've just ordered an EGR blanking kit from someone on Ebay so hopefully that'll turn up soon. Next job is going to be sorting out the sadly-more-rusty-than-I-first-thought boot floor

Welcome to the forum.
We have numerous Disco's running on our biodiesel with no problems.
Start on a 50/50% biodiesel/normal diesel mix and gradually build it up to 100% biodiesel.
