A local mate told me on Monday that one of my brakelights wasn't working properly. It was the usual brakes on, tail-light off earth fault. "Must be all the puddles I've been driving through" I thought. So I reached up behind the back bumper to see if there was a load of wet mud clagged on the back of the light cluster and found . . . . . . a mouse nest! Now the LC had only been standing for 72 hours over the weekend while we visited friends in Sussex. Bloomin' quick work by that mouse I'd say. It was beautifully made of straw, sphagnum moss and leaves . . . . . . and the earth wire to the stop/tail lamp!

The line is:
"That'll mean fresh diff oil and new seals I suppose - oh, and would you check the wheel bearings while you're at it, please?"

My J Reg (1992) Surf import is going in for recall work (yes Toyota did wobble a bit but have come under pressure from the vast number of import owners to honour the Japanese recalls). They are going to change the "steering arm," do a full valet, fluids change, give me £20 worth of diesel and a bottle of champagne.
The dash board warped on my brothers two year old disco because he parked it in full sunlight - Not covered by the warranty. He doesn't like Toyota's, "Too basic and plasticky."
