Hi all,
I think I make this post every year (my browser remembered the subject line!).
Well, after the winter brake service (thanks manfred) and hubs, and 24V upgrade she runs again. The new alternator seems fine, voltages all do what they should do - the winch dropped it down to 22V under maybe 1/2 or 1/3 load.
I have a confession to make......I couldn't find a pertronix coil for it and ended up with (cough, spit) Lucas Military Landrover 24V one! The guy I bought it off (mil supplier near J10/11 of M60) said you could just lop the top off and you had a normal coil - and he was right.
She runs really nice with the 24V coil, nice and perky, though it's time to do the valves.
Getting some articulation (actually, it hung the wheel - was on the helper spring with not enough weight to make it drop)
Driving up the stump to get a bit of articulation
Playing with the winch - is a bit more hardcore than it looks, as it had to pull it up over a couple of breeze blocks.
Have fun
jim
