Hiya, i'm in the early stage's of modifing my 94 fourtrack. it seems i've hit a brick wall in terms of knowledge. i can't find a snorkel made for the model, dont know how to lift the thing, and where to get any of the parts. infact it's fair to say all i've got is a set of muds.
i'd be greatful to anyone who knows whats required to lift the jeep, where to get the parts and if a snorkel from another jeep will fit. i'm not very technical so keep it simple, and i dont bodge or do diy, thats because it twice the expence to get someone to fix my efferts.
thanks in advance

if its a 94 is it on indipendent front suspension and coils rear
if so to lift the front is very simple you just tighten the torsion bar theres an adjuster at the end (its a 22mm bolt on the chassis rails near the gearbox) and the rear you just have to get longer springs
you might have to change the shocks tho
as for snorkle im making my own so will post some pics when done as there are very few places that sell for diatsu try looking for diatsu rocky parts as they were known in other countries

great stuff, thanks zukibrit. i'm clear about the rear springs, and i'll get there with the adjustments on the front, but why would i need new shocks .
also, say i raised the rear with springs 2 inch, how would i know how to adjust the front the same amount of distance. is there a method or just guesstimet.
can't wait to see the snorkel, regards

your shocks might be to short to allow the springs to work properly(letting the axel articulate) as for checking the hight just park on flat ground and get a tape measure and measure from the ground to the edge of the wheel arch
the front you can lift about 2" but because its indipendant front (i f s ) you are limeted to how much lift you can do before if gets very exspensive to mod and replace broken parts
my mates running 31/10.5/15 0n his fourtrak by just lifting it 2"

Thanks again, i've been browsing all day and cant find anyone who sells the parts. la supertrux said they'd call back but never did has did a few others.
will the front defernatley lift 2", because there'd be no point buying 2" lift coil springs, also what do you think about coil spacers .
i've been on and off the forum all day and there's alot to take in. lots of very knowledgable people who like to help. seen some crazy pictures as well, complete nutters in some great 4x4's.

hi again, been browsing again and droped on a simular topic on the daihatsu drivers club.
everything thats already been mentioned only the kid bought heavy duty torsion bars . why was this. he bought the 2" lift coil springs plus shocks from west coast 4x4 that you just advised. when i spoke to la super trux they advised i leave the shocks till i know for definate if i need them . this is the bit i'm most confused about, do i need shocks or not
if i lift the front by 2" via the torsion bar will this damage the torsion bar and do i need a heavy duty torsion bar. to be honest i'll never push the fourtrack to the extreme, it's more for a bit of fun, come monday my 3 year old little girl will be back in the seats so all needs to be well.

no dont get the hd torsion arms because when you wind them up it firms up the ride as well so with hd ones on it will be like a rock
as for shocks like i said if your not woried about suspension travel the just get the springs it will give u the lift but when your off road the tyres wont follow the terrain like it would with the longer shocks
see what deal west coast will do you on the springs and shocks

called west coast today and for the rear 2" coil lifts the price will be £56 plus vat for the springs, and £12 plus vat delivery.
there's a number of differant models for the shocks so i did'nt ask a price until i knew what i wanted. can you recomend any piticular type that will be suitable, regards

ive always used procomp for my shocks they are cheep/reliable and have worked well on all the off roaders ive had
the 3000 types ive had on the suzukis cos they are light so dont need as much dampning
the 9000 types are gas charged so tend to be suited to heavier 4x4 ive had then on a landcruiser so should be fine on the four trak
im ordering a set for the unimog so carnt be that bad

hiya, just about sorted. west coast can do the coils for £80 all in and, there's a kid called steve who has a on-line store that will be able to supply the pro comp es9000 shocks for £35 each plus £7.50 delivery. he also gyves you the option to pick up the shocks from frickly off road centre in yorkshire which is good for me.
thanks alot zulibrit, you've been a great help, i'll post some pic's once i've done, keep me posted with that snorkel, regards Kieran.

hi
did you get the springs fitted?
did you need the shockers?
i got an independent too
and it badly needs a lift, so if i can get away with just rear springs....
but its already on 31s, so if i lift it i should be able to go bigger?

cheers
i think i'll be tight and try to just fit the rear coils,
my dampeners aren't that old, so i don't wanna replace them too soon
i think 255/75 15 is exactly the same as 31 10.5 15
but i had 32"s (235/85 16) on my old zuke so i wanna go bigger than that if poss
