Anyone know of good sources of 10.50 x 20 tyres? I have a Land Rover 101 fitted with Mog 404 wheels and Uniroyals which are looking a bit bleak. What are the options?

I have two new 10.50 Continental MPT 80s so I could just get a couple more of those. But even 2 MPT80s could well be more expensive than a full set of other types!

Any ideas or sources?

You could have a look at the Mitas 10.5-20 tyre. They are part of the Continental group and they do a 'budget' version of the MPT80.

Hey Graeme, long time no see.

The cheapest I found the MPT 80's was £220 per tyre, when I looked at the Mitas ones Rich C was selling a while back they were about £120 per tyre.

Interestingly, although the Conti's are made in Austria it was cheeper to buy a set in South Africa than Europe, go figure.

I've ended up back on 900 r 16's as I came accross a scource of Michelin XZL's for silly money, unfortunatley it's now dried up Crying or Very sad

Chris

Hi Chris - yeah I guessed about 200-250 for those MPTs. I may go back to 900s but a set of 900s will cost about the same as a pair of MPTs. You got Michelins - cool they'll last you at least an hour! Just watch that tread fly off when you hit a motorway!

I'm in no big rush - plenty of time to find a bargain!

Mr Tyre - I see you are in Darlo - anywhere there does those Mitas as I'm near Barnard Castle

I prefer to use independent tyre dealers as they are very keen to beat the big nationals on prices, so any good indi will be able to price them up for you. Also give Mark Sowden a ring at Sowden Tyres he will be able to sort a good price out for you.His number is 01132 566606.
