Does anyone know if the idle can be adjusted on an OMVL Millennium (single point) LPG, or is it adjusted by the ECU? My Cherokee runs fine but the idle is too low. . . was ok couple of months ago.......also anyone know of a reputable LPG installer in the Norwich area?

Get it checked out, does it idle ok on petrol?

My Merc stopped idling on LPG and had a low idle on petrol.

The valve seats had recessed and the tappets were too tight.

Make sure everything down stream of the LPG ring seals. Mine does this on and off, it draws air via the leaks and tus doesn't get enough gas mixed in, depends where you're ring is, if on top of the carb/throttle body not an issue but mines a little way up stream of the TB.

sorry to sound dumb but where and what is the lpg ring? There is a hose/pipe that goes from the top of the rocker cover at the back to the inlet manifold that's split at the manifold end, not sure if it's a breather or vacuum pipe....could that possibly cause it? It is intermittent and wasn't doing it a couple of weeks ago........as for running on petrol, it has a miss fire which the engine check light says (Lambda sensor) but i reckon may be some thing more fundamental like an injector as it runs very smooth on gas

Could well be the problem, any air leak can cause issue to both petrol and LPG running.

Can you post a picture of the under bonnet.

Ok......Idle probs on gas now sorted.....was a couple of vac. pipes now idles nicely. Thanks to "'sbtb'" for the help and offer of further help via photos.......a few weeks back I posted a question about my Jeep miss fireing constantly when running on petrol. Now whilst sorting out the vacuum hoses I though I'd let the car run on petrol and then disconnect each (petrol) injector loom to at least isolate which cyl. was missing and it now appears to be No. 4 cyl.......but what I found concerns me.......both wires to that injector have been cut an re-soldered, but now includes a red - I presume some sort of live fee(?) - that leads to the OMVL Millennium ECU which controls the gas.......I this right? and if so could this have damaged the injector in some way??

Yep, its probably a 'ignition on' signal pickup for the Millennium unit. Can't imagine any reason for that to affect the injector, though it is possible the wiring is a bit crumbly. Just swap the plug from your suspect injector to one of its neighbours (maybe unwrapping the wiring a bit to allow for the stretch) and you'll see if if its an injector or wiring issue.

Hint : when using a basic LPG system that allows starting and full-time running on gas, it's a good idea to run some petrol through once in a while, say monthly at least, else injectors gum up and carburretors fail from dry gaskets or worn floats (bouncing on the bottom)

cheers, Ross K

If I swapped one of the injector plugs on another, wouldn't that open the injector at the wrong time? Like if i swapped it for No. 3, wouldn't it open when No. 3 opens and not when No. 4 needs to open?

Trust me, the timing effects are minimal, it'll work fine to prove the point Smile

I'm not at all sure your car actually has timed injection pulses at all. Many 80s/90s cars (like say classic Range Rovers) are what they called banked systems - the injectors open at the same time in a bunch. It works fine.

cheers, Ross K

I thought the 4.0's were sequential........shows what thought did Embarassed
Could it be that this live wire that has been joined the this injector, is taking away the current need to open it, thus causing a miss fire.........still don't understand why a live for the LPG has been taken from here........sure it should be on the coil.........well it's being looked at by Kelcrow in Acle - they installed the conversion - and since it has had another engine in they reckon that it should be set up again as the gas ECU will be running on default settings.
Thanks for the help and advice
