Should be ok on a blend of 40% veg 60% Diesel, possibly adding 5% unleaded if it still too thick....

If you're thinking of using used vegetable oil, it would be best to filter it before using it. If you're not keen on getting a proper filtration system then, even using an old pair of jeans, tying a knot in the end of the leg and gravity filtering the used oil through the jeans is better than nothing.

Don't use stretchy jeans tho.
The rubber in them goes really weird!

what about fuel pumps and filter are there any parts that will need changing in order for it to run sweet

I fitted a fuel heater to my Disco 300tdi which reduces the viscosity of the veg oil.I ran my pug 406 on a veg/derv mix with a heater for 2 years without any problems.
I've included a picture of the heater from my old pug !

Do you think that that heats the fuel going into the IP at all Disco71?
The problem with veg is the damage is done when starting from cold, Cold thick veg doesn't spray from the injectors properly, this is hitting cold pistons, valves and cylinder walls and sticking to them, gumming up your piston rings.....
Incedntally I have one of these electric fuel heaters here if anyone would like to try it, Pay postage and its yours!

Yes I hear what you are saying an injector pump full of cold veg oil is not good. The heater gets very hot quickly and the extra filter i fitted after it gets hot so yes it does warm up the oil.
