Anyone done this?
Straightforward supplies have a kit that uses discovery series 1 parts. Looks appealing...

been looking into disk conversions they are some beter ones out there but all requre the hubs to be modifide and they are a bitch to get of (just ask jim "shaggy") the ones from sfs have the hub machined and look to be put back on backwards (the wheel mounting flange is usually next to the portal box but in the pics they are on the hub nut side and the disks bolted on from the back)hence the wheels will stick further out
the yanks seem to change the wheels over to the 8 stud hummer wheels when fitting disks and use 1 tonne truck callipers
im looking at some that get rid of the mog bolt paturn and fit landrover disks/wheels that way theres lots of 16" tyres and rims to chose from
as for availibility tim a straight forward in this country so should be a lot easier to get from

undo the large nut on the hub ends then pull the hub off the splined shaft and pray you get a easy one if not start looking for some HEAVY enginering shops with 30 tonne + press the only one ive seen get a stuck one off without distroying the portal box/shaft was shaggy he has a write up on his web sitewww.foodfight.org.uk

The 40 tonne coffee table is available on loan to suitably qualified differs, who pick it up and bring it back (from cheshire or manchester).
It is worth trying the angle iron/box + grade 8 threaded bar + 12 ton bottle jack method. That got 6 of 8 hubs off, the coffee table was only needed for 2 of them.
Hub bolts can be fun as well.

I'm not sure about the quality of the sfs kit. A c303 disc kit from them i came across a while ago was the f**king terrible.
And the idea of mounting the disco brake caliper off the sandwich bolts rather than it's mounting lugs is just dangerous.
The Killer axles kit (tibus offroad?) is pretty good if pricey and they are more arrogant and harder to get hold of the sfs. and you carn't fit smaller than 16.5" rims.
There are plenty of other people out there doing disc conversions without risking life and wallet with Tim.
