Been a busy week or two after it failed the MOT on a duff brake and having no rear mudflaps at all.
I had to get a brake cylinder from the states, it was cheap - but postage wasn't. It's proper though, sick of b**gering about with honing and pattern parts.
Brakes work great.
Also got the second pair of MPT's on it, for the first time we have 4 of the same tyres, and a matching spare. We also had a second set of starter problems which turned out to be one of the two brand new batteries being duff.
Anyway, I also built a set of mudflaps to pas the MOT, and hold a wheel chock each side.
Then i put the lights and signs on
Doesn't she look pretty - it's the fourth set of light mounts we've had.
Oh and she passed the test.

That should read
"Now load it up with 12 heavily armed german troops and head towards russia just like it was designed to"

That's a nice looking job, have you any plans to mount the spare without the rope?!
I can't decide where to put mine, had thought about welding a spare hub onto the back of the rollcage, probably offset to one side to preserve rearward vision.

Normally I bolt the spare to the back bed (it has loads of captive M12 bolts through the wood, more than are needed for the wood itself), but at the last MOT they put the load machine on it and I'd had to unbolt and then rebolt it, so I just ratchet strapped it down for MOT.
A chap called Simon who came to mogstock had made a carrier for the back of his radiobox -
Which is very cool - it hinges down to nearly floor level, and since it is hinged it is very possible to one man to lift it vertical. I have never put a wheel on the back bed alone - I think I could, but I've always managed to avoid trying.

Yeah, that's sweet.
I lifted the spare from my first Mog into the back of the Shogun on my own. Nearly gave myself a hernia doing it though... And that's a good bit lower than the back bed of a 404!
It was pishing rain last night so no pics of the new beasty... Hopefully it will be a bit nicer tonight
