Hi all, looking at buying some Grand Vitara 16" rims to fit on my 4U2 vitara which has a 1 1/2" spring and damper lift all round, could I fit 225x75x16? if these are to big what could I get away with?

a quick check shows my 195x80x15 having a 27.3 in dia against 29.3 in diam for the 225's

OMG I've asked a question that can't be answered Dancing or I've bored everbody to death Embarassed any info greatfully received as I might well have found a set of GV 16" to fit Dancing

another one we could try is get everybody to send me their spare wheel and I will turn them into running sets and post tests on them ..... I of course will return them when the rubber gets down to about 3mm Angel

I have 225/75R16's down at just under 30 inches against your 27.75 current fit, the lads on the Suzuki forum usually go for 2 inch lifts when fitting larger tyres, have they suggested anything different?

Quite right, will give this question an airing on the Zuk forum. Thanks for the size info, I had been using one of those online size generators and I guessed that it would have to give theoretical figure as actual tyres must change from manufacturer to manufacturer, but nearly 30" is quite different to just over 29" so I better tread (sorry) carefully. I think the lift on my Vit is nearer 2" than 1 ½" but I don't want to get into any more lift or arch cutting as the vehicle is my wife's everyday transport and will be used for green laneing not full on "off road", is there a size that you would recommend nearer to the 29" size? Smile

I have just measured my current 195x80x15 tyres on the vehicle (at 23psi) and they are pretty close to being 26 3/4" in reality which is a long way from the 27.3 in dia or 27.75 dia that the theoretical sizes quote at, in fact the widest point across the wheelarch is 30" Shocked this sizing game is an nightmare Crying or Very sad

Yes, the 225 tyres will fit, seem them fitted to a vit with no lift.
