I ordered 4 hole tanks but received single hole tanks - what are the pro's and con's of each - is it worth the hassle to send them back and change them - would appreciate views on this thanks Spyder

So long as everything fits, I wouldn't worry too much. But you do expect to get what you asked for!!
The pipe end fittings at the tank valves vary a lot , so make sure whatever pipework you intend to use will fit.
If you're squeezing into a confined space (e.g. under chassis) it can make a difference depending how the valves stick out, and which line the pipes want to take.
Practical experience suggests that 4-holes work out marginally more reliable in the long term.

I've hard 4 hole are faster to fill at the pump and god knows LPG takes a long time compared o petrol.
