right after my recent topic on big ampage alternators ive sorced a 80 amper which i think i can bodge to fit but its brand new and the guy wants 80 squid for it
so do i rumage through the scrappies for a higher 1
or chuck this 1 on
whats every one on here running? the set up is as follows
twin batteries
4 front spots
2 side 2 rear
Warn 9000lb winch
elecy fan
and its on a sj with a 8 valve 1.6 lump in it
i need to get this right 1st time as ive got my 1st challenge next weekend

80 amp is only just above average I believe, ideally with a winch you could do with a twin belt system, but having said that I have a 110 amp alternator on a single belt, struggles a little bit when winching but it manages for now.
Don't forget thought that your original wiring might not be capable of handling higher outputs, so if you go much larger change the cable!
