Simon,
there is a lot of weight in a minor pick ups body compared to a SJ body.

You have the SJ rolling chassis & the minor to suspend,
so its going to need good springs on the SJ axles.

yep its got a 2" lift, and its a 300 tdi, yes they are for off road use, yep its a 3dr and i know ive got to get some wide arches

i run on bfgoodrich muds handle very well in the wet especially for mud tyres they are more expensive but there the ones id go for every time

it woirks on a points system you get 4 points for a body change if you get over 8 points it needs an sva so if its only the body your changing youll be ok

i had this problem resntly on my range rover classic what happed was the live cable from the battery to the starter motor go caught around the steering colum
