Look at lada niva transfer boxes, divorced, full time 4x4 with a locking centre diff and they used to be rallied with up to 300bhp with no problems.

i suppose you'd say the front of the diff is pionting down, i.e. the input flange is pointing up. (and is therefore not in line with the front propshaft)

just a little update, failed the mot re-test today. annoyingly, lambda reading was ok this time, but the CO reading was sky high!?

its only driven 8 miles since the test, (from, an ...

Gadgetboy, the light does work but goes off like you say after a couple of seconds.

If it helps at all the hydrocarbon and CO parts of the test were well within limits and the tester commented on ...
