im assuming you have a two pole in line isolater switch these are quite easily fitted to the live supply from the battery tap into live supply

a good size to run with spring over axle conversion would be 31/10.5/15 most mud terrains available in this size is it just for off roading or road use aswell?

sounds like you have a sensor problem would sugest a coolant temprature sensor does it run better from cold until it warms up?
