Might depend on the market? My old 1.6 didn't have them, and my current motor hasn't had them from new. And I've never seen them on a Niva over here. Would be a good idea to use them though!

Do you mean the metal (brassish) spring bases in which the spring rubber seats fit, as at the front? They aren't used at the rear.

Hoodoo - mine will be 51mm to first full coil of the spring from top of the retainer cone. Did you go more than this, and did you have any problems with panhard pulling diff to one side? | |

re bumper bar... extend the chassis rails with ange iron then weld a lump of RHS to them. Works great - I've seen this done. Good place to attach recovery hooks too. | |
