Does anyone know if there is a K&N air filter, that would fit the inlet
manifold on a Series 3, 2Â¼ diesel engine?

Hi Damian.
You definitely need to get the grommet off.
You can get new sleeves and I think a new grommet from Bartrams.
What a job to choose, even with the gearbox out, this is a pig.
