I did it again: engine warm, and spinning a rear wheel.

Result: A lot easier and faster (for one person), and less noise (though there's a bit which I contribute to being regular valve noise.)

I made the handle "optional". I think my factory unit had a slipping handle so that's why I had drawn it originally.

That's the only procedure listed anywhere. Repair manual, maintenance manual, urban legend. I'm open to correction but I still reckon it should be done cold.
