I've one on my volvo fm, its excellent when on a long decent and nearing maximum weight. I really only use the foot break when coming to a complete stop.

I don't really see the advantage ...

Defender doors are a weak point so 2nd hand they are expencive.
Nearly new ones on ebay go for nearly 500 each and second hand ones go for about 250.
