I think the SWB has low box as an option, and i seem to remember that you could get a kit from the dealer to retro fit it (The T case is there, it just needs the lever) but im not 100% on that.

when I put the calmini shackle reversal kit on my SJ the handling was virtually the same as before but possibly a bit stiffer, I didn't get any sort of untoward problems with the steering or anything ...
