I thought mine were great.
There should be standard looms available along with the switches, failing which you can buy the switches and wire them in yourself - relays and fuses recommended

when you check the fliud levels, try running the engine up to temp and feel the top water pipe for heat coming through. You can 'pump' the pipe as well.
