They'll be WAAAAAAAAY too stiff. They're around 400lb, and you'll want around 200 - 250lb.

I'd be looking at jimny front springs.

4.7 diffs from the series will still be way too high, even with standard vit tyres.

Standard vit diffs are either 5.12 or 4.8 - you'll need something MUCH lower, even for 33s.

the 98 might be 5.12, but probably will be 4.8.

yep. they're a higher pressure pump designed for direct injection engines (the early VW engines were indirect injection (IDI) due to the precombustion chambers.

it could be a snapped cable, or more likely, the plastic pulley that the cable loops around has given up.

You'll need to take it to bits, but might be worth just finding a replacement mechanism fi ...

Gearsticks will need extending/fettling.

Brake union on front of chassis.

bumpers need relocating.

use loads of penetrating oil weeks before so that you don't shear the bolts out of the body.

most of it should be fine, except the drop brackets... Also worth checking the front wishbones if you can, as some LWB vits had cast ones that were somehow different I believe...?

the lowest factory UK suzuki diff was 5.12. Even the lowest aftermarket R&Ps don't go below 5.8.
