Hi all. Not been on here for a while. I have had 2 emails saying that someone had tried to reset my password. As it wasn't me I wonder who it was or are the forum gremlins at work?

As soon as I deleted the file and restarted it sorted out the problems it was causing.

I don't know if it came via difflock but I got a virus warning which started with difflock.kgb

Autos are good off road says the chap who sold his D2 auto and bought a manual defender. The hill descent control is brilliant although the first time you use it is a good test of confidence.

Based on a mates disco (300 tdi) it was the sedimentor head that was porous and the fuel lines were a bit past their best. All changed and the vehicle starts easily

Check that the height sensor mounting on the chassis is intact. the rubber mounting can split

Front dampers are "interesting" to get out Laughing Mine used to tramline but when I got the same tyres all round it helped greatly. Also, check the bush on the ACE ram under the drivers side ...

If the exhaust manifold is squealing it can be as high as 20 mpg. With everything as it should be then 28-30 mpg is doable

I presume they are the same as trolley jacks to purge air. Have the bleed screw slightly open and the jack on a level surface. Pump the jack with a load on it and it should purge itself

I found that out on Georges lane at horwich. Popped 2 tyres (Same side). If I was driving like an idiot I would have said I deserve it but I was taking it steady.

Make sure nothing is stopping the seats from sitting level. If there is a bit of carpet sticking up or some trim snagging it then the catches won't lock
