It could be the drivers door lock that is faulty. Unfortunately they have to be replaced as a complete mechanism Evil or Very Mad

Durham 4x4 at Bowburn South Industrial Estate should be able to help. There advice/diagnosis will probably work out cheaper than changing stuff for the sake of it.

I've had genuine, one I can't remember, BM and Mahl (or Mann, again, don't remember), all make a noise but the Mahl is quieter.

Bet your genuine one still makes a noise...

Yup, my 04 doesn't have the plug at all.

And to be honest I've never found any water in my filter either so don't bother draining it anymore.

Rotor filter is easy, take of the cover (two screws), lift out the rotor, put nw one in, put cover back. Dead easy. Don't overfill the oil. Fuel filter should be easy and ...
