I'd probably look at the lt77/stubby R380 option with series transfer box and rr diffs.

fairy o/d's are expensive and quite fragile, the series gearbox isn't really up to a tdi

Don't buy cheep stud extractors though, they tend to snap, and are as hard as a drill bit so a real PITA to remove once snapped.

Quick drying machine enamel works a treat. Touch dry in 20 mins and tough.

Not cheap though, cost me just over £100 a few years ago for about 7.5l

the ones on pPevensey levels can be a bit sticky if they're wet. I heard of one a few years ago Hailsham or maybe Battle direction that was supposed to be a bit challenging but it got resurfaced.
