Bosch B855 are the longest in the Suzuki range. With the injection I'm sure pot 3 uses the longest due to the direction of the dizzy.

Take your plugs out and have a look what colour/deposits are on it.

If it is not too serious I would say it was electrical or carb related, check the vacuum pipes and gaskets for vacuum leaks.

Go to the local motor factors and buy the cheapest 4 pin (most common)indicator relay and compare it to the orginal one.
Forget about the pin numbers as they will be wrong.

Just remembered, does the SJ not already have a bolt under the peddle to stop you giving it full beans? Chris you might need a longer bolt.

Chris, you do get those sudden rushes of blood to the head from time to time. Nat's LJ Revs like a motobike. Yours was well over 7K RPM on a couple of occasions.

I'm not sure if fixed hubs are wider than locking ones. Wheel spacers will give you 30mm further off the hub.

I found the cheapest way to buy an engine is to buy a car and sell all the bits. Door handles go for £20 a set and the manual is worth £13 etc et ...

My 8V carb can pull away from my brothers 1300 injection. I have power from 800 revs but no more after 3600 rpm.
Your 1300 was faster than both ours so you may be let down with the bigger engi ...

Kia sportage alloys are 16" and normally around £50 a set on ebay. Not sure if they will fit the front if you have FWH but fixed hubs should be ok with spacers atleast.

As pete says above; It's not likely to be the rad that the problem. Mine runs sweet at 83 degrees all day long no matter what and that's with the 1300 rad.
